Consumer Health Data Policy
Effective date: October 16, 2026
This page explains how OHPI handles consumer health data: information about your health that you keep in OHPI. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else. OHPI is run by Jared Bell (“OHPI”, “we”, “us”).
Health data we collect
We collect only health information you choose to add, by typing, speaking or editing a list. OHPI doesn’t read Apple Health, sensors, location or anything else on your phone.
| Where in OHPI | What it can include | Readable by OHPI and its AI? |
|---|---|---|
| Tracker | Weight, water, sleep, steps, workouts, vitamins, mood, and “Days since” counters, which can record things like sobriety | Yes |
| Food Log | Food and drinks, meals, calories you report | Yes |
| Health list: doctors | Doctors’ names, specialties, phone numbers | Yes |
| Appointments, notes and other lists | Anything health-related you write there, such as “dentist Tuesday” | Yes |
| Health list: medications | Medication names and details | No. Locked on your iPhone |
| Health list: insurance | Member and group numbers, insurance card photos | No. Locked on your iPhone (the plan’s name stays readable) |
We may also infer health information from what you add (for example, that a counter named “sober” relates to recovery). We don’t build health profiles or make guesses about you; anything inferred is only what Claude needs to file or answer your own message.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your health data only to give you what you asked OHPI for:
- Save it in your lists and back it up to your devices.
- Show your charts, streaks and “Days since” counts.
- File what you add, and answer your questions about it (through Claude, as described below).
- Send the reminders you turn on.
We never use it for advertising, marketing, research or data mining, never sell it, and never use it to train AI.
Your consent. You add health data yourself, for OHPI to keep and show it back to you. Before any of it goes to Claude, OHPI asks your permission in the app.
Who we share it with
We never sell your health data. We share it only with the companies that run OHPI for us (“processors”), and only so they can do that job:
| Processor | Why it has your health data |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores your lists on our server (in Oregon, US) |
| Anthropic | Claude reads the parts it needs to file what you add or answer your question. Anthropic may not train on it and deletes it within 30 days (flagged content up to 2 years) |
| Apple | Siri turns what you say into text, if you add things by voice |
We have no affiliates. We may also disclose health data when a valid legal process requires it. We can’t disclose locked medications or insurance numbers in readable form, because we don’t have the key.
Your rights
You can:
- Know whether we have your health data, see it, and get a list of every processor we’ve shared it with.
- Withdraw consent for sharing it with Claude: turn the AI off in Settings → Privacy & Security. OHPI stops sending anything to Claude right away, and your lists keep working by hand.
- Delete it: delete any item yourself, or delete your account (Settings → Account) to delete everything at once. When you delete, we also have our processors delete it.
How to ask. Email [email protected] from the email on your account. We may ask you to confirm it’s you. We’ll answer within 45 days, or tell you if we need up to 45 more. We won’t charge you or treat you differently for asking.
Appeals. If we turn down your request, reply to our answer to appeal, and we’ll respond within 45 days. If you’re in Washington and still disagree, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General.
