Terms of Service
Effective date: October 16, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Jared Bell, who runs OHPI (On Hand Personal Inventory) (“OHPI”, “we”, “us”). They cover the OHPI iPhone app and the website ohpi.app. By creating an account or using OHPI, you agree to them and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use OHPI.
1. Who can use OHPI
- You must be 18 or older and live in the United States.
- One person per account. Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, and for keeping your iPhone’s passcode private (it can open your locked items).
- Keep your recovery key safe. If you lose every device, it’s the only way back into your locked items, and we can’t recover it for you.
- Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
2. Your content
What you add stays yours. Your lists, photos and everything else you put in OHPI belong to you.
You give us permission to store, copy, process and show your content, and to send it to the companies listed in our Privacy Policy (including Anthropic for the AI), only to run OHPI for you. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies our providers delete on their own schedule, as the Privacy Policy explains.
You’re responsible for what you add, and for having the right to add it. Keep backups of anything you can’t afford to lose: use Export, and keep your recovery key safe.
3. The AI, and what OHPI isn’t
OHPI uses Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, to file what you add and answer your questions.
- AI makes mistakes. It can file something in the wrong list, miss or change a detail, or give a wrong answer. Don’t rely on facts in its answers without checking them, especially dates, amounts, phone numbers, doses and deadlines. Use Undo, Move and editing to fix what it gets wrong.
- OHPI isn’t medical, financial or legal advice. Tracker, Health, Bills and the AI’s answers help you keep track of your own information. They don’t diagnose, treat or advise. Talk to a professional about your health, money or legal matters.
- Not for emergencies. Don’t rely on OHPI or its reminders for anything urgent or life-critical, like taking medication on time. Reminders depend on your iPhone’s settings and can fail.
- Wishlist links are found on the web by the AI. Check a link and price before you buy; we aren’t responsible for other websites.
- Locked items: OHPI’s check for passwords and other secrets in what you type is a best guess and can miss one. If you lose every device and your recovery key, your locked items are gone for good, and we can’t get them back.
4. Using OHPI fairly
Don’t:
- Break the law, or use OHPI to store or plan anything illegal or harmful to others.
- Get into anyone else’s account or data, or try to get around OHPI’s security or limits.
- Overload, attack, scrape, copy or take apart OHPI, its server or its AI, or use bots to send it messages.
- Use OHPI to make something that competes with it, or resell it.
- Use the AI in ways Anthropic’s Usage Policy forbids.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
5. Price, and Apple
OHPI is free to download. We may offer paid features or plans later. If we do, we’ll show the price and what you get before you pay, and you’ll never be charged without agreeing first. Purchases go through Apple’s App Store, under Apple’s terms, and refunds are handled by Apple.
Apple. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for OHPI or its support, and has no duty to maintain it. If OHPI fails to match any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, who may refund the purchase price (if any); otherwise Apple has no warranty duty. Apple isn’t responsible for claims about OHPI (such as product liability, legal compliance, or consumer protection) or for third-party claims that OHPI infringes someone’s rights. You must follow the App Store’s terms when using OHPI. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
6. Ending your account, and changes
You can leave anytime. Settings → Account → Delete account deletes your account and everything in it, permanently. Export your lists first if you want a copy.
We can close an account that breaks these terms, or if we have to stop offering OHPI. Unless the law, safety or abuse prevents it, we’ll give you notice and at least 30 days to export your everyday lists.
OHPI will change. We may add, change or remove features, or stop offering OHPI. If we stop, we’ll give you notice and time to export.
These terms may change. We’ll update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we’ll tell you in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using OHPI after that, you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can delete your account.
Sections 2 (the end of our permission), 3, 7 and 8 continue after your account ends.
7. Disclaimers and limits
OHPI is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties, express or implied, including that OHPI will be accurate, always available, secure or free of errors, or that your data will never be lost. This includes anything the AI files or says.
Limit of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from OHPI. Our total liability for any claim about OHPI is limited to the greater of what you paid us for OHPI in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
Some states don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing here limits rights the law says can’t be limited.
Indemnity. If you break these terms or the law while using OHPI and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you’ll cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
8. Disputes and the rest
Talk to us first. If you have a problem with OHPI, email [email protected] and give us 30 days to try to fix it before taking other steps.
Governing law. The laws of the State of Florida and of the United States govern these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Florida, except that either of us can use small-claims court where it qualifies.
The rest. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about OHPI. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something right away, we haven’t given it up. You can’t transfer these terms to someone else; we can transfer them if OHPI becomes a company or is sold, and we’ll tell you.
